The latest version of the rulebook had seen the dropped ball rules removed because we felt that we wouldn’t need it anymore. However, concern has been raised by some teams that on difficult situations (ball in front of a post, etc…), the game might still get stuck.
We cannot simply add back the rules because there were no clear conditions for performing a dropped ball.
I would suggest to have the referee calling automatically to a dropped ball if ball has not moved more than 5 centimeters over the last 2 minutes.
