Updating names for competition
- Humanoid Soccer Competition (Kid and Adult)
- Humanoid Open Competition (Kid and Adult)
- Humanoid Open Demonstration
Website
- The upload size and links on humanoid.robocup.org are fixed
- The old URL now redirects to the new website
- There are still some changes necessary to bring it up to date (multiple outdated pages)
- Making updates easiter: creating only one point of entry that needs to be changed
- Maike will merge the events page with the main pages of the year
- Website header image -> more tricky to update than initially though because of the aspect of the image
- Image size needs to be 1600 × 230 pixels
- Reinhard tries to create a new one
Call for Participation
- Maike prepared a draft on the website
- Humanoid Open Competition and Humanoid Open Demonstration is not ready yet
- Open Humanoid League will have two sub-leagues, KidSize and AdultSize but they may be merged based on how many applicants we have
- Reinhard prepares a draft for both over the weekend
- Humanoid Open Competition and Humanoid Open Demonstration is not ready yet
- Special Offers and team waivers
- They have been sent to people who offered it last year, but no open call for special offers. Now it’s too late to send it around.
- Link toward latest rule version?
- We upload a revised version of the rules already when the CfP is sent out - those would only include the rule changes that were already agreed on (nobody opposed)
- Ludovic will put a summary in the CfP
- Are semi-finalists of previous year directly included to division A?
- No, everyone is distributed into league A and B based on the initial round of Drop-In games
Sending e-mail to the league with some updates
- Announce that meeting minutes will be published in the forum
- Discord channel opening (TODO by Ludovic)
- Including teams in the review process
- Timeline regarding rule update and voting process
- Meeting minutes from last RoboCup (TODO Maike)
- Open Humanoid League and Open Humanoid Demonstration
- League Development projects - call for contributions
Rules
- The introduction of a fair-play rule was mentioned by Peter Stone, it is unclear how it could apply to our league
- Who will take in charge the update of the rule - preparing the rule book, preparing the voting documents (Ludovic, Reinaldo, Reinhard?)
Registration fees
- Humanoid Open Competition
- Same as Humanoid Soccer Competition
- In the first year since this is a new competition, we request that the fee is waived for everyone
- Humanoid Open Demonstration: proposal to submit to RCF
- Already registered in any league: No payment required (registration is done independent from the official system)
- Not registered in any league: Teams fee is waived and they have to register individuals (and pay for them)
Release of a dataset
- RCF requests that all leagues come up with a procedure to provide datasets after competitions.
- How to distribute responsibilities:
- It should be joint effort associated with league development projects
- We include a CfP in the email asking teams who are interested to join in the project
League development projects
- Communication protocol -> Coordinator: Ludovic
- Should be non-funded and start quickly, before call for league development project
- Concerns expressed toward Mitecom -> changing for a more flexible protocol?
- Network communication: filter/log/synchronize -> Coordinator: ???
- Monitor bandwidth of teams and messages
- Which data can be transmitted and when?
- Preventing litigious situation with obviously no intent to disrupt the game (cf Adult-Size final 2019)
- Allow accuracy on clock sync for robots (e.g. chrony -> ~ms sync)
- Important for the league metrics of the robot (sync between external video and internal video)
- Filming all games + making streaming easier -> Coordinator: Maike
- Cheap setup possible with Rasp4 + webcam
- Possible to have a joint project RoboCup Wide
- NaoDevils from SPL worked on it
- Tech United MSL organized live.robocup.org
- “Dataset” Project -> Coordinator: Ludovic
- Collecting communication of all teams and referees
- Comparing perception of robots with ground truth
- Extracting high-level metrics (distance traveled etc…)
- Extend the ‘submission’ website to include schedule/results of the competition -> Coordinator: Gregoire?!
- Allow teams to add publications as well
The next meeting will be held end of September/beginning of October
